We dismantled the winch/pulley system and hung all the purlins. The tops of the posts are cut flush with the roof line. It's time to start putting up the sheet metal.
With the help of our friend Ross, the final trusses are hoisted, positioned and bolted in place. Now, 180 hangers and 90 2x6 purlins must be cut and attached between the trusses.
With resourcefulness, ingenuity, plenty of trial and error -- and the much-needed assistance of Scott's dad -- the daunting task of constructing the roof becomes reality. The 250lb. trusses are lifted and raised up easily using a winch-type pulley system mounted on a pipe and connected to cables. Three are up -well done!
